Danyang (Ruby) Zhu is a first year master's student in Case Western Reserve University's Biology Department. She is always ready to learn, eager to try new things and, and willing to challenge herself. She loves traveling and exploring, especially meeting interesting people and coming across fascinating stories. What drives her to science is that she can always stand on the shoulders of outstanding and hardworking pioneers to touch the edge of human knowledge in a lab setting. Her current role in the Dr. McDermott’s team is to generate potentially important zebrafish mutants using CRISPR/Cas9 system. She hopes she can know herself better and get a clearer goal in life after trying out all sorts of ideas and possibilities.
