During four years of undergraduate studies of biological sciences at China Agricultural University, Jiaqi Hu gradually intensified her research interests in transgenesis. She a graduate student in the Masters’ program in Department of Biology and joined the McDermott lab in August 2012. She is investigating genes that are necessary for inner ear development and function using the zebrafish model organism. She is mainly focused on generating knock out zebrafish by using TALEN technology.
